Camp is winding down coming to a close which means my blogging days are probably over. We get to go to a banquet thing which Jeff says has cupcakes. WHOOOTTTTT! I learned a lot and am very glad I took this class. Now I have 3 days off until I get to start school journalism! No sleep for the wicked. This also means the end to my carpool with Brianna, Aly, and Meglyn. I learned how to drive on the freeway for no reason. Oh well too late now. I am proud that I actually accomplished something this week and I ran everyday so pat on the back for myself.
The MadzBrigan Show
11 AugToday we created a podcast about the state of high school newspapers and how to increase readership. This is our last assignment of camp. Over the week I have learned I-movie, soundslide, and garage band, as well as I will not survive this school year cause getting out of bed at 7 is awful. This was a really fun camp with lots of great experiences. All ready for school newspaper to start up now! (just not for school to start)
Soundslides
11 AugThe third day of camp was the hardest to wake up for. We went to Chipotle for lunch so it was a good day! We had to make two soundslides-one about a location, the other abut a person associated to the location- and me and Brianna were a group. She has previous experience making these so once again she saved my butt and taught me how to do everything. Looking forward to making one for the High Tide.

Lights, Camera, Action!
9 AugSecond day of camp our job was to go out and film a movie with a story found somewhere around campus. Our group came across a teaching workshop about art in the Holocaust and interviewed two survivors. Both were extremely interesting people with depressing stories about the war. It was a great experience except DAMN audio. There were people speaking in the background speaking louder than the main speaker. Luckily Brianna saved our butts with her imovie talent. 2 days down 2 to go.
First Day of Camp!
8 AugWe were sent out to find any random person and interview them to find their interesting personal story. I interviewed Dr. Jeff Cohlberg the Department Chair of Chemistry at CSULB-pretty impressive. He teachs biochemistry something I will never understand and was sitting on the patio reading Science magazine. That is something I am jealous of. There’s nothing in my life that I love and care about that much that I could pursue as a career. The day at camp went really well despite my desire to do anything other than the article. I still have the summer mindset so my articles pretty crappy… don’t believe me check it out at http://www.newspapers2online.com/features/2011/08/08/long-lasting-love-for-science/ and see for yourself
J-lism Camp!
8 AugThis is the earliest I have been up since school got out so the morning was not an easy one for me. With only thoughts of my warm comfy bed I entered the classroom with relatively low expectations, however I was pleasantly surprised. I have already met new people and we have become friends and Jeff brought candy so everything is looking up. I am HORRIBLE with computers and technology so this class with be very helpful for me. So far looking forward to the rest of the week.
